Eavesdrop | A Secret Listen In To Salliefoyeh's New Sounds

The UK is a hot bed of talent and originality and is producing credible, original, inventive and captivating music. Salliefoyeh is one of these artists whose blend of Soul, Gospel, RnB and Pop genres along with a youthful perspective has merged diversity and common ground using different sounds, textures and lyrical content that touches those that hear her music.

Influenced by Lauryn Hill and Corinne Bailey Rae, Salliefoyeh shares the inspiration behind her music. A lot of my songs are a response to God’s goodness, and my gratitude to him for it. I’m essentially inspired by the life I live every day and the experiences I go through, and all of that is seen or lived through my faith, which is the focal point of my life.

The 21-year-old Warwick University student is showcasing new material at what is the singer-songwriter’s debut headlining show titled Eavesdrop.

“…This event is just to showcase some of my own material in anticipation of my debut EP which will be out in February.” Salliefoyeh continues, “I’ll be performing with my full live band for the first time.”

“My hope is that Eavesdrop will be warm: in the sense that I want people to feel comfortable/at home, in that space with each other, with me and with the music that I’m sharing.”

“The name “Eavesdrop” actually came serendipitously! I knew that I wanted the event to be an opportunity for people to kind of have a glimpse into, or a sneak preview of my music and felt like eavesdrop was the perfect word to express that,” Salliefoyeh shares.

“I think that an audience can be just as important as the artists in any performance, and so I’m excited for what the audience will bring too!”

Supporting Salliefoyeh at Eavesdrop is Rapper Franklyn and singer/songwriter Santhy Mercado.

Having been gigging and performing in various venues all over the UK for the past few years, Salliefoyeh is ready to unleash her sound on the world with Eavesdrop which will take place at The Star Of Kings (126 York Way, London, N1 OAX) at 7:30pm on 19th December 2013. Tickets are £5.00 and can be purchased HERE!!!
