Empire Nation will be releasing their second studio album, ‘Closer,’ in Spring 2012. The album features a collaboration with Philippa Hanna and is being produced by Andy Baker of Resound Media.
If you’re new to Empire Nation, we can assure you that they are no newcomers to the scene and their music is top quality. After doing loads of gigs in 2011 even seeing them be the official support band for Parachute Band while they were on their UK tour and cementing their name and their music in the lives of people all around the UK, this is definitely a band on the up and their new album, music video and tour will surely prove that.
Pre-releases of the highly anticipated album will start to appear at the end of January; starting with the single and music video ‘Fire Fall Down,’ directed by Carl Shanahan; an award-winning director with credits that include working with Warner Bros. and Universal.
“We’re getting really excited about releasing ‘Closer’” said frontman Ed Bird. “We’ve been working with some great co-writers and producers. Fans will have heard tasters on our tour last year so we’re looking forward to finishing it for them. This album is all about getting real with life and closer with God.”
“We had a lot of fun filming the video for ‘Fire Fall Down’. I won’t give away too much now, but let’s just say the video involved skateboarders, all kinds of dancers, and lots of sparks!”
Empire Nation, made up of Ed Bird, Sam Dransfield, Sam Glazebrook and Sam Greene, released their award-winning first album ‘Airtight’ in July 2010. With tracks such as ‘Airtight’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Light My Way’, it firmly established them on the Christian music scene.
