The group were formed by Bishop Alfred T. Lands in November 2007 with the vision of them being young women with willing and submissive spirits to give glory to God through their gifts.
God’s Gurls cover so many styles but the one’s that shine through are contemporary Gospel and R&B with undertones of Jazz which makes for easy listening along with some rich soulful harmonies and a tight vocal blend.
These ladies are passionate about their music but also about their faith and their education with all of them studying in University or having already graduated from University.
God’s Gurls are also passionate about spreading the message of salvation, purity, and sincere praise to God through their music. ??”You can be educated, beautiful and live a life that is pleasing to God. We invite all females to adapt this lifestyle and become a God’s Gurl says the group.
Over the course of their current journey as a group God’s Gurls have shared the stage with artists such as Earnest Pugh, Vashawn Mitchell, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Dottie Peoples and many others.
With the rise of female musicians coming through, God’s Gurls are in a great position to inspire and encourage those who are coming after them spiritually, morally, educationally and of course musically. They’re growing as a group and we can only anticipate what is to come because they may have been going for a few years now, but for some reason it feels like we haven’t seen anything yet and that God’s Gurls are just getting started.
