The name Lecrae has become synonymous with Christian Hip Hop/Rap over the years. Lecrae has made a massive impact on the Christian music industry and mainstream music industry because of his dynamic lyricism, distinct flow and his ability to deliver top-notch quality, time and time again.
The Atlanta based rapper is now gearing up to release a brand new Mix-Tape titled ‘Church Clothes’ which has a unique and cutting edge concept and will be released on 10th May 2102.
“This Mix-Tape is aimed at the mainstream and is raw, uncut Hip-Hop,” said Lecrae. “This is totally different from my past releases, and I hope I can build a bridge between my current fans and create new ones.”
The ‘Church Clothes’ Mix-Tape will be hosted by Affiliates DJ Don Cannon who expressed his excitement about the project saying, “What interested me was that he feels so strongly about his beliefs, and I am the same way,” in an interview with Rapzilla. “It’s something special in music to be able to stand up in this industry and bring the people something different.”
The ‘Church Clothes’ Mix-Tape will serve as Lecrae’s official introduction into the mainstream Hip-Hop scene and will feature No Malice (Clipse) and production from Boi-1-Da, S1 and Street Symphony.
2011 was a big year for Lecrae expanding into the mainstream Hip Hop scene which saw him be a part of the B.E.T Hip Hop Awards (freestyling exhibition) and that success is continuing in 2012 having been featured on ‘Live And Let Live’ taken from DJ Statik Selektah’s album ‘Population Control’ and performing at Paid Dues Independent Hip Hop Festival which featured Wu Tang Clan, Dipset and many more in early April.
