UK Gospel Sensation Lurine Cato Releases ‘You Revive Me’ Ahead Of New Album…

Lurine Cato You Revive Me

Lurine Cato is one of Gospel music’s legends in the UK. Her music is described as “Gospel with a flava of soft Rock, R&B and Pop.” Her message is to the broken-hearted, to encourage those who have been rejected and to motivate those who are chasing their dreams to reach them. Whether live or on a recorded project, one thing remains and that is the impact that Lurine’s ministry has is undeniable and has lifted people out of the depths of depression into joyous freedom.

Getting her start at the C.O.G.I.C National Convention (UK) when she was aged three, the rest (as they say) is history. “From then; I don’t think I ever wanted to do anything else but sing,” says Lurine.

A little later on in life, Lurine met and became friends with Marie Reid (now Carter). They formed a dynamite packed duo called Redeemed and exploded on the Gospel scene. It was then that the power of Lurine’s song writing came through.

Through-out her years in the music industry Lurine has appeared live on BBC’s Children In Need, has featured on ‘This Is Gospel 1999 Vol 1’ (a UK compilation album produced by Nicky Brown and Viv Broughton) for which Lurine wrote two songs including Visual Ministry Choir’s contribution ‘I Can Go To The Rock;’ and the she also sang as an artiste in her own right on ‘He Can Do It!’

Lurine also encountered mainstream success with ‘Friends’ which was produced by DJ Dodge and was remixed by popular DJ, DJ EZ at the height of the UK music genre, Garage. ‘Friends’ went on to be featured on ‘Pure Garage lll’ and became a hit on the club scene as well as urban radio stations. Lurine also featured on the ‘MOBO’s 2002, The Very Best of Urban’ album with her song ‘We’ll Get Thru It’ along side tunes by Missy Elliot and Rihanna. In 2005 Lurine’s vocal from her track ‘I Will Follow’ was sampled and used in the track ‘Follow Your Heart’ by DJ’s Iceberg and Eskimo which topped the Norwegian charts at #1.

Performing in venues such as the Barbican, the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, Wembley Stadium and the world renown Jazz Café and working with a seemingly endless list of both Gospel and mainstream artists such as Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burell, Twinkie Clark, Andreas Bocelli, Enrique Iglesias, Mary J Blige and Kylie Minogue; it is no wonder why Lurine holds such a legendary status within the UK music scene as a whole.

After years and years of requests, demands and even pleading from fans of different generations, cultures and even musical tastes; 2011 finally saw Lurine release the first single, the Pop/Rock/Soul infused ‘You Revive Me’ leading up to her long-awaited album. ‘You Revive Me’ see’s Lurine at her best and showcasing her 5-octave voice that has become her musical signature over the years, oozing with passion, soul and enough musical dynamics to captivate just about anyone. With great vocal arrangements and intense musicality, the scene is already set for the album which is now eagerly awaited.

“’You Revive Me’ was written when my life was being restored from difficult relationships and while washing my dishes (looool), the song just fell from heaven; the guitar riff just came to me, then the words,” says Lurine.

Produced by Lurine and Shaun Stewart (her keyboardist and Musical Director), Lurine called on heavy-weight musicians and also some of the UK’s finest, Jerry Logan on bass, Michael Patrick on organ, Ben Martinez on guitar and drumming legend Jerry Brown on drums.

There is also an official remix of ‘You Revive Me’ produced by Marcus Johnson which has a hint of Drum n’ Bass and is proving to be a hit with fans as well.

Friday 10th February 2012 will see Lurine headline her own concert aptly titled ‘Lurine Cato Live In Concert’ which will take place at Millfield Theatre, Silver Street, Edmonton, London, N18 1PJ.
