Martha Munizzi, the best selling independent Gospel artist in the history of Gospel music has returned again with another strong album ‘Make It Loud’ which is also her first self-produced album. The new albums features William McDowell, Michael Gungor, Jonathan Stockstill, Lori Morrison, Daniel Eric Groves and the debut of Danielle Munizzi, Martha’s daughter.
‘Make It Loud’ shows another side to Martha and her music. This album takes Martha somewhere new, exploring different sounds and approaches to her songs which was refreshing. It’s a live album so though-out the album there’s great crowd participation and a great atmosphere. The fact that it’s live also leaves room for a lot of opportunities for the band to express themselves and they sure did that. The musical and vocal arrangements are tight and will keep you listening from start to end.
‘Excellent’ has to be our favourite song on the album. The musicianship and the whole vibe is bound to get you singing along and dancing… There’s enough energy in this song to last a few days. The reprise also allows for some great musicianship from the band… A section musicians everywhere will love.
‘No One Higher’ is a song that will definitely transcend cultures and find it’s way into worship services around the world with it’s congregational sound and beautiful contemplative music and meaningful lyrics.
‘Set Me Free’ brings the acoustic, organic sound giving the song a pure and intimate feel. The emotive, and harmonious singing and descriptive lyrics make this a great song for times of devotion and seeking God.
‘Make It Loud’ is a great album and shows development with Martha’s songwriting skills and even the ability to keep her sound whilst still adding something new into the mix. Anyone that loves great praise and worship music with deep, meaningful songs will love this album. It really represents a lot of the different sounds you could hear in a modern church worship service, so diverse but cohesive, a sound that will appeal to the masses.
