A movement of friends is a hard thing to package but when something happens locally that is real and sincere, it probably doesn’t need too much hype. Rend Collective Experiment started in 2004 as a group of confused 20 somethings trying to figure out life, God and community which eventually evolved into a collective of musicians and artists trying to share what they were learning with the world.
With music grown out of an organic environment, Rend Collective Experiment’s aim is to make music that takes you on a journey and music that speaks from the heart and tries to follow God’s heart while still being music for all not just the religious!
After releasing the ‘Organic Family Hymnal’ in 2010 and ‘Homemade Worship By Handmade People’ in 2012 the Rend Collective Experiment have drawn fans with their unique, fresh and organic sound of worship that draws from the old and reaches for what is new. Now they’re recording a brand new album and want YOU to be a part of it!
The group from Northern Ireland plan to record a new album live album with a difference. Here’s what they said on their Facebook page.
Ok so here’s the details for our live recording in Northern Ireland (sorry for people in other places in the world I know a lot of you have expressed wanting to be there… )
“We want to do a live worship album not in a church building but on a beach around a campfire. We want people to see the church and how we love our God as well as take part in an intimate time of seeking God. It’s going to be an awesome time of praising God and hanging out – we would suggest bringing a few sandwiches in case you get hungry. Ok so here’s all the details but just to let you know we only have 40 spaces so be quick
- We want people roughly between the ages of 20-35 who can sing in tune – you don’t have to be amazing – just not awful… unless you want to come and mime
- We will be recording live video and vocals with 12 songs off both our albums so you would need to know the words and songs – this list will be emailed out to you when you contact us
- We are also looking for 2 brass players and a violin or cello player so if you can play trumpet or trombone (maybe French Horn) email and we will get back to you.
The date is Sunday 26th August at 3pm til 9:30pm and will be at Ballyholme Beach in Bangor, Northern Ireland.(the recording will be out doors weather dependant so do bring a coat but we will be around a campfire)
You need to email us and let us know you are coming as soon as possible. Email firstname.lastname@example.org – with your name and whoever else is coming, age and mobile number – If you commit to coming then do make sure you are there as it will be the first 40 people who email that will be accepted. If you can’t make it let us now.
