Stuart Townend Releases 9th Studio Album The Paths Of Grace

Integrity Music is pleased to announce the release of ‘The Paths Of Grace’ – the ninth studio album from Stuart Townend. From the writer of ‘In Christ Alone’ and ‘How Deep The Father’s Love’ comes yet another album full of songs that offer worshippers a wealth of profound lyrics and impeccable musicianship.

Long regarded as one of the most gifted songwriters of his day, Stuart Townend’s songs of substance draw their strength from the collision of word and worship. ‘The Paths Of Grace’ has plenty to inspire worshippers across the generations: from the lush arrangements of ‘An Altar Of Remembrance’ (co-written with Gary Sadler) and ‘Singing Hallelujah’ (featuring Sam Cox) to the powerfully raw approach of ‘Good Shepherd Of My Soul’ (co-written with Keith and Kristyn Getty and Fionan de Barra and featuring Ruth Notman) and ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ (also co-written with Keith Getty and again featuring the exceptionally talented Ruth Notman).

Other standout tracks include ‘The Paths Of Grace/Diary Of An Agnostic’ which powerfully – but gently – walks the listener from doubt to the first steps of faith.

The album’s first Radio Song – ‘Promise Of The Ages’ (co-written with Ed Cash and Keith Getty) starts the album off with a welcome return to the folk style that drove so much of Stuart’s last album, ‘The Journey’ – nodding at the likes of Van Morrison, Alison Krauss and other such greats.

‘The Paths Of Grace’ also features stunning artwork by artist Patrick Bremer. The collage (titled Outward) is a powerful reflection of the album’s core themes, as Stuart explains: “Isaiah 11 presents an amazing image of a world where the Messiah’s rule of justice and reconciliation is established: predator and prey living together in harmony, with a little child leading them. “Although the fullness of that prophecy is yet to come, as Christ leads us along his paths of grace through the confusion and trials of life, we can enjoy a foretaste of this glorious kingdom of justice, innocence and reconciliation today. These themes come together beautifully for me in this album’s cover illustration.”
