UK Rapper Faith Child Starts A Riot In Croydon: Educating At Risk Youth Through Music…

MOBO Award nominee and winner of Best Gospel Act at the 2011 BEFFTA Awards, Faith Child is back with a mission in 2012, and that is to use music to help young people in London.

The rapper who hails from Croydon, headlined at Riot Aid, a music concert held to help raise funds for restoration of London following the August riots last year. Faith Child, who believes the need for positive role models in the London community, is more pertinent than ever, is hoping that through music, young people can love learning again.

“I love working with young people”, said the rapper. “Music has the ability to imprint itself in the mind rent free for weeks after your first listen. Pretty much like nursery rhymes, a good melody sticks in the mind unconsciously, as opposed to Trigonometry! Now slap a funky beat, a nice melody, rhyming words and bingo problem solved!”

Faith Child, who’s been performing music for over 10 years recently headlined at the Indigo2 and Wembley Stadium respectively and has been the opening act for top UK chart topper Tinie Tempah. Also an inspirational speaker for young people, Faith Child wants to spread the positive impact music has had on his life to other youngsters, and hopes that his positive message will deter disaffected youth, especially those from the inner cities, from a possible life of crime.

“Nothing pleases me more than positively affecting the life of those around me especially young people. Kids are more likely to listen to public figures than their parents, so I use my influence to steer kids onto the right path and do the right thing. Volunteering with young people helps me give to those less fortunate in life.”

Faith Child is currently promoting his new single, ‘Picture Perfect’ and plans on releasing an album later this year.
